Be part of the local aikido community with regular Tuesday evening training in Grey Lynn.

This evening aikido session suits adults and young people of all ages and experience levels. Participants turn up ready to train in a co-operative format that emphasises technique, balance and mindful movement. The class opens with warm-up exercises before moving into paired practice of aikido principles and basic forms. Beginners receive guidance while experienced students refine their skills through repetition and partner work. Weapons training with bokken, jo and tanto is included on a regular basis, alongside breathing and focus exercises. The session runs every Tuesday evening and remains open to visitors as well as regular attendees.
The session takes place in a dedicated training space in Grey Lynn. Arrive a few minutes early to change and settle in before the start. The neighbourhood offers easy access for Auckland residents coming from nearby suburbs, with a calm indoor environment suited to focused practice.
