Step right up for a journey like no other! When two friends discover a mysterious time machine, they’re whisked through the dazzling eras of circus. From the chariot races in Ancient Rome to the spectacular storytelling of contemporary circus, they see it all. Performed by talented youth from across Kaipara and Whangārei, Journey Through the Rings of Time celebrates the wonder, skill, and timeless spirit of circus.
Circus Kumarani, known for winning ‘Audience Choice’ at the 2020 and 2022 Whangarei Fringe Festival, brings you another incredible showcase, perfect for the whole family!

This funding allows Circus Kumarani to enable youth to tell stories through circus arts.
Students who attend our regular afterschool classes created this show - from brainstorming, scripting, making costumes, MCing, stage handing and more. They range in age from 5 to 22, and have impressive skills!
While funding made this possible, we still need ticket proceeds to cover the cost of this event. Ticket sales go to our charitable trust, to pay our team of amazing instructors, and to create more opportunities for circus for years to come!
