Hit the Road with PNP Junior Cycling Rides

Adventure awaits with the Port Nicholson Poneke Cycling Club (PNP) and their Junior Road Bunch Rides in summer! Designed for teens aged 13-17, these group rides are a fantastic way to dive into cycling, build skills, and enjoy the outdoors in Wellington. Every Saturday at 8:00 AM, participants meet at the Evans Bay Marina Carpark by the Wind-wand in Hataitai for a 2-hour session, returning by 10:30 AM. Starting with carpark skills training, riders learn handling and defensive techniques before splitting into beginner and intermediate groups for bunch rides filled with fun and bike games. 🚴‍♀️

Mingle with other young cyclists and parents in a supportive setting. PNP, one of New Zealand’s oldest cycling clubs since 1926, welcomes everyone to try these rides without immediate membership commitment. Most use road bikes, but if you’re unsure, contact Junior Coach Gary at 021 173 4406 or juniors@pnp.org.nz for advice on rentals. Bring snacks for energy, and check the juniors’ Facebook page for weather updates or indoor spin session changes at Hataitai Park. Entry fees vary, so confirm with Gary before joining.
