Weekly Juniors Kyokushin Karate

What to Expect at Juniors Kyokushin Karate

Newcomers to this juniors session are welcomed into a focused training environment where children aged 7-12 build core karate skills through structured practice. Participants start with warm-up exercises before moving into technique drills, striking combinations and controlled sparring suited to their age and experience level. The format emphasises discipline, balance and power in line with traditional Kyokushin methods while keeping activities engaging for young students.

Sessions run weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, giving juniors regular opportunities to refine their form and fitness. Open to visitors as well as regular attendees, the group suits both beginners and those with some prior training. Instructors guide everyone through age-appropriate progressions so each child can develop at their own pace.

  • Learn foundational stances, punches and kicks
  • Practice partner drills in a safe setting
  • Build strength, coordination and focus
  • Take part in short fitness challenges
  • Receive individual feedback on technique
  • Train alongside peers in the same age range

Mas Oyama Karate New Zealand provides the coaching framework for these regular gatherings.
